Our story

We built the transaction layer every neobank was rebuilding from scratch

Daniel Okonkwo had spent the previous two years doing data infrastructure work for fintech teams in Tampa. Over that time, he watched three separate neobank engineering teams each spend their first sprint or two building the same transaction category model from scratch, each one solving the same edge cases, each one shipping something fragile. In 2024, he started Openaggr to build that layer once and make it something teams could integrate in a day, not a quarter.

Owns the enrichment pipeline, inference latency, and SDK releases. Previously worked on real-time data processing at a payment infrastructure company. Tracks p95 latency on every deploy and considers anything above 80ms a regression.

How we work

How we think about what we build

01
Accuracy before features
A wrong category in a spending summary damages user trust more than a missing feature. We do not ship new capability until the existing capability is accurate enough to be invisible.
02
API-first, always
The API is the product. Every decision about the response schema, the field names, and the latency budget starts from the developer experience, not from internal convenience.
03
Developer time is not free
Integration time is a real cost. If a team needs more than a day to go from Sandbox key to production data flowing, something in the API design is wrong. We treat integration friction as a bug.
04
What we are not
Openaggr does not aggregate bank accounts, move money, or replace open banking infrastructure. We classify and enrich transactions you already have access to. We sit on top of your data layer, not underneath it.
